On Saturday, April 13th, 2024, members from AYLUS San Clemente Branch volunteered at Rancho Mission Viejo 1st Earth Day Festival. This educational event was held at The Pavillion from 1:30pm to 7:30pm. By visiting 26+ vendor booths, residents will learn easy ways to make a difference for a healthier planet.
Our volunteers helped at three main booths. One is Wyland Foundation’s Science Lab. They guided residents through each of the six water activity stations at the Mobile Science Lab. These stations provided guests with interactive learning opportunities and activities to provide education about water. The second is Worm Farm Station. Volunteers educated residents about how warm composting works. Allow residents a chance to hold live worms and take a photo. The third one was Nature Reserve’s Nature Glen. Volunteer alongside The Nature Reserve of Rancho Mission Viejo to host crafts, games, and activities to provide educational offerings at this year’s Earth Day Festival.
Volunteers participated this event were: Elena Hsieh (2hrs), Laura Liu (5hrs), Edward Leigh (5hrs), Jasmine Zheng (3hrs) and Kevin Zhou (3hrs).
