On April 2nd, a few members of the AYLUS Oyster Bay gathered at The Life Enrichment Center at Oyster Bay for a beautification seedling program. We listened to the program organizer’s plans about community involvement for the younger generation; we were handed egg cartons, soil pellets, seeds, popsicle sticks, and pencils as tools to guide us through the seed-growing process. Also, we asked questions about the planting details and met people with more experience. After the program, we each took one home and planted the seed into the egg carton with soil. Through this program, I have gained a lot of knowledge about environmental actions and how we could protect our community through this seed-planting opportunity. Finally, I will share these experiences with our team members and improve our understanding of environmental sustainability.
