Sophie Chung and Sierra Kusek lend a helping hand to a Food Bank on April 5th, 2024. As this was a particular cold morning, they decided to just put on a thick sweater and a jacket instead of wearing their AYLUS shirts.
This food bank had been a supporting pillar in the community while helping those in need when rising inflation prices have cut the food budget of many families in half.
The members started by filling in the giveaway boxes with bread, fruits and vegetables. Then they sorted through donations that the food bank had received from local supermarkets and added them into the different bins. After this task was accomplished, they sorted through produce to separate spoiled food from food that was still good to either eat or donate to local farms. They continued with weighting the different carts on a big scale before cleaning up the
workspace.
