Murrieta AYLUS Helps Local Food Bank (43rd) (3/29/2024)

Reported by Hsin Chen(Julie) Lu :

On March 29th, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS members helped out their local food bank, the Community Mission of Hope. The members started off with bagging cartons of strawberries in plastic bags to be distributed in food boxes later. Not long after they finished their task, the supervisor called a quick meeting in which he shared encouraging words and said a prayer. Afterwards, the members went outside to help give out food to people. Each car was given a food box, one or more food box (depending on their family size), a bag of cleaning supplies (paper towels, detergent, bleach, etc.), and a choice of either ham or turkey. There was also Costco pizza and boxes of cookies available for families. The members continued to work outside, occasionally going inside to help with packing boxes, until the time came for everyone to clean up. The members then helped with puting away the carts, wiping down the tables, and mopping the floors.
