On March 24th 2024, AYLUS members had a beach cleanup on their local beach and park. As they exited their vehicle, they were immediately brought into attention by the winds, as the combination of the unique weather condition and the ocean breeze culminated into tumultuous drafts that hindered the volunteers as they carefully made their way across the park and down to the beach. On the way, they found a number of chip bags, orange peels, and aluminum cans. As they went back up, they also found a random assortment of plastic, including a balloon which one of the volunteers were quick to fetch off the road, and a ripped off sign from one of the nearby restaurants. Everything was neatly deposited in the local trash can after they had made a last scan of the area.
