The AYLUS Dix Hills Branch volunteered at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum to help clear out lesser celandine. Volunteers used multiple different tools like metal shovels, rakes, and other gardening tools to remove their roots to ensure that they don’t grow back. Volunteers identified and removed the invasive plant to prevent it from spreading more, and then cleaned up the area by removing leaves, weeds, and other debris. Volunteers worked from 9:30 to 12:00 to help take out unneeded plants.
Volunteers: Bryan Fan (3 hrs) and Jonathan Fan (2.5 hrs).
