On February 22nd 2024, from 9am to 12pm, two members of AYLUS San Clemente Branch volunteered at Family Assistance Ministries Food Pantry.
For the first hour, they made goodie bags, taking different snack foods from crates and sorting them into bags. Then they made FAM bags, each bag containing a canned fruit, a soup, canned meat, canned vegetables, peanut butter or jelly, macaroni, and pasta. For the last hour, they sorted produce, stacking different fruits and vegetables into piles to put in the freezer or leave out, throwing away any rotten ones they found. These fruits would come in boxes carried in on trucks, and every time when they finished sorting a box, the two members Jasmine and Edward would take a cart over to the trucks and haul more boxes to the sorting table.
Members who volunteered today were: Jasmine Zheng ( 3 Hours ) and Edward Leigh ( 3 hours )
