Members helped by setting up decorations such as posters and a red carpet. Afterward, they presented food on tables such as oranges, bananas, cakes, and sunflower seeds. In addition, they also set down cups for each table, one for wine and one for juice. They also recounted the amount of food on each table to make sure there was enough for every table member.
Chinese New Year is a celebration to acknowledge a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. It was held to respect ancestors and gods, but in recent years has been a time to eat good food and celebrate with family. This year, it is the year of the dragon, which represents good luck, strength, and power. If you were born in 1988, 2000, 2012, or 2024, you were born in the year of the dragon!
