On January 24th, Aylus Great Neck hosted a math tutor and a strategy game for kids. The activity started at 4: 30PM.
In the first 30 minutes Kevin teached a 7 year old kid about multiplication and did some practices. Later on we played the board game called battleship. Our student learnt the coordinates to infer the positions. We finished two games in total between the kid, Kevin Zhang and Zixi Zhang, until the library was going to close at 6:00PM.
Hours:
Kevin Zhang – 1.5 hour
Zixi Zhang – 1.5 hour

On 1/28/2024, Aylus Great Neck held another of its board game sessions for people learning English. Since the library is always closed on Sundays, we met in the same apartment complex of one of our volunteers at about 9:00AM.
Our volunteers Ruiqi Liu and Kevin Zhang continued to play Monopoly, but this time we used the speed die instead of just using the normal dice. The game did progress much faster with the die, and we were able to get many hotels built before the end of the game after an hour. We still did not actually finish a game, but we got much closer to finishing than last time.
After the hour was over, we said our goodbyes and left, like usual.
Hours:
Ruiqi Liu – 1 hour
Kevin Zhang -1 hour
