On December 9th, 2023, AYLUS Basking Ridge members aided Warren members in volunteering at a meal packing event hosted by Rise Against Hunger. Rise Against Hunger is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending world hunger by nourishing families, supporting communities, providing emergency relief, and more. The meal packing event was attended by 200 volunteers who packed over 20,000 meals for Early Childhood Development programs in South Africa. The meals packed will be sent to the children in those programs to help support them through their education.
AYLUS volunteers funneled rice, soy, important vitamins, and veggies into meal bags. The bags were then transported to be sealed, or volunteers replenished supplies at different stations. The event goal of 20,000 meals was surpassed and the event was a huge success
