In the week leading up to November 22th, 2023, the AYLUS Columbus branch collected food and non-food donations from their own families and those in their neighborhood to be donated to the local food bank, the Dublin Food Pantry.
The food items collected include ramen, candy, cookies, canned soup, crackers, oatmeal, cereal, pasta, peanut butter, etc. The volunteers also collected a variety of non-food items needed by the pantry, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, and disinfectant wipes.
The Dublin Food Pantry provides food, hygiene products, and other resources to individuals and families who are experiencing food insecurity in the Dublin, Ohio area. The branch hopes that the donation can bring some holiday cheer and relief to the underserved community that the Dublin Food Pantry serves.
On November 22nd, 2023, the AYLUS Columbus branch went to donate the collected candies, food, and non-food items they collected from the their own families and families in their neighborhood to the local Food bank, the Dublin Food Pantry, which provides food, hygiene products, and resources to individuals and families who are experiencing food insecurity in the Dublin, Ohio area.
There has been a growing need by the communities that the food bank serves. In total, the branch donated 160.2 pounds of food items including candy, ramen, cookies, canned soup, crackers, oatmeal, cereal, pasta, peanut butter, and non-food items, such as toothpaste, tooth brushes, chewing gum, soap, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes. Before the donation, branch member, Estella Li, also checked to make sure only items within clear labeled expiration date were donated.
The branch hopes the donation can bring some holiday joy and relief to the underserved community that the Dublin Food Pantry serves.
