On Saturday, November 18, Murrieta AYLUS members conducted a beach cleanup.
They started in the parks, picking up stray pieces of paper and wrappers, finding that the park was cleaner than usual. The pathway down to the beach appeared to be littered with stray papers that were cleaned up. The volunteers trekked a stretch of beach and found small pieces of plastic inside patches of seaweed and some stray bottle caps. Rounding out to the parking lot, they found more food waste and bits of plastics. After filling their bags, they threw them away in the trash.
