On November 11, 2023, Frisco & Plano Branch volunteers went to Dallas Chinese
Fellowship Church(DCFC) to assist the Agape Special Needs Program with their kids. The
Agape Special Needs Program is designed to guide disadvantaged children through a
therapeutic healing process with different activities that incorporate art, music, games and
more.
We started by setting up the room with decor, the cotton candy machine, and the balloons.
Then we had training as how to interact with and help the special needs kids. Once the kids
arrived, we first joined them in their lessons, danced and sang together with them. Then
they had free time in which they could walk around the room and have fun. During this time,
we started handing out cotton candy and balloon animals to the kids. They really enjoyed it!
Then we cleaned up the setups when some of the kids got prepared to get baptized.
We learned to be appreciative, have patience and show kindness.
