On Sunday, November 5th, from 2:00-3:00 p.m., the Roslyn Branch participated in the Letters For Rose event at the Bryant Library.
As Thanksgiving approaches, it is important to show your gratitude to those around you. Today, volunteers participated in the Letters For Rose program which made crafts and letters to send to those at our local nursing home to wish them a happy Thanksgiving. At the event, there were six tables set up with different activities to do at each. There were crafts like DIY-stained glass, which was made from colored tissue paper squares, outlines of plants, and large sheets of clear tape, as well as foam stickers, wooden hanging decorations, and traditional card making. With all the materials provided, there was a lot of room for creativity for each craft. Through this event, the elderly at the nursing home will receive thoughtful gifts and positivity this Thanksgiving and the volunteers were able to demonstrate their creativity and kindness.
