On October 21st, the Millburn Branch went out to Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit, New Jersey. The arboretum needed some help in preparation for Oktoberfest, which is a festival that originates in Germany. We helped hang up the Oktoberfest banner and decorated tents with colorful festive flag bordering. We spent the remaining time helping out in the arboretum’s greenhouse and making plans for pinecone decorations. We prepared a soil mixture for new plants moving into the greenhouse and created paper blueprints for the pinecone designs using our geometry skills.
