Each year, the Green Brook Historical Society collaborates with the rest of Somerset County to provide a weekend with free historical site admission and information to the residents and visitors of the county. Through setting up free tours of historical sites and handing out pamphlets at state parks, volunteers and the historical society work together to educate those who stop by on the history of the county and the area surrounding it. The Journey Through the Past Event was successful and many residents took advantage of the tours or informational pamphlets/brochures. There was also a wonderful performance put on by “George Washington” at Washington Rock State Park for visitors to learn more about what the area was like during the American Revolution.
Warren Branch volunteers specifically helped out at the Washington Rock State Park by promoting and handing out pamphlets to residents and visitors. Volunteers also helped set up and take down the tents for the event. The event ran over the course of two days, and a total of four Warren branch members helped out at the event.
