On September 23, 2023, members of the AYLUS Bellaire Branch volunteered at Books for Development at 3709 Polk Street.
From 9:00AM to 12:00PM, members sorted and boxed donated books into different categories including adult fiction, juvenile fiction, math, animals, children’s, history, education, science/health, social sciences, psychology, and more. Volunteers were given books, and they were sorted into their respective categories. Afterwards, volunteers placed books into boxes, and wheeled them off to another area to be stacked. A few volunteers were in charge of labeling the boxes based on the categories and stacking them.
In total, around 100 boxes were stacked, with each box containing around 30 books.
