During the month of September several RCA members decided to work on a new project.
Looking for ways to bring more joy to the seniors, the members decided to grow some succulents to donate to a local senior home. Initially this project was planned for the month of August, however things didn’t go as planned as some succulents died due to overwatering and others didn’t thrive as well and needed more time.
The members reviewed different YouTube videos to figure out what the best way was to propagate succulents from cuttings and restarted the project in September. Neighbors as well as a nearby nursery provided the source for the cuttings.
Over the next few weeks, the plants were carefully taken care of and were repotted into small containers for donation. The group then made uplifting cards to accompany the succulents who were then gifted to a nearby senior home.
The group was satisfied with the outcome. Adding the plants to the cards showed the seniors how much local members of the community cared for them and that they were not alone. The seniors were very pleased, and the group is looking forward to hosting a first concert at this senior home soon.
