On August 19th, 2023, Murrieta AYLUS members went to their local food bank to help. This time, members did something different instead of helping with food. Members got several buckets, and filled it up with water and cleaning solution. Then they got multiple scrubs, all different sizes. After, members helped connect the hose to the faucet connector and then to the water pressure pump. A stack of crates were brought to members to clean. Members would hose down the crates before bringing it to the side to wash. They would use the brushes to clean all sides of the crates, inside and out. Members split up to clean the crates. A couple were scrubbing the crates and the rest would take the crate after it was washed, and dump out as much water as possible before placing it on the wooden pallet. Members were diligent in cleaning and made sure to scrub down all the suck goop and dirty things on the crate. After scrubbing the crates, they would place it next to the hose where it would get cleaned thoroughly before grabbing another crate. Members were brought several more pallets with crates on it to finish and they repeated the process. In between, members took a break to hydrate themselves and rest their hands. Then, they went back to work and finished off all the crates. When they finally finished, members began to clean up the hose, buckets, brushes, and placing all the remaining crates back on their pallets. In total, members scrubbed and washed 244 crates!
