On July 29, 2023, members of the AYLUS Bellaire branch sorted and counted books at Books
between Kids on 9947 Harwin Dr., 77036.
From 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, volunteers reviewed the condition and sorted different kinds of
donated books into categories. Categories included picture, nonfiction, chapter, board/toddler,
young adult, and numbered books. Books that were either too old or in bad condition were put
into a thrift category, where the books would be sent and used elsewhere. After a 10 minute
break at 10:00 AM, volunteers stickered, counted, and packed the books into boxes ready for
shipping.
In the span of 2 hours, volunteers sorted around 800 books and counted around 2000 books.
The following volunteers participated in this event (2 hours): Owen Cheng, Victoria Wang, Yuze
Han, Raymond Han, Miranda Wang, Alexander Tang, Angelina Hoang, and Helena
Wang.
