On July 19th, the east Pittsburgh Aylus Branch volunteers participated in a community service event at The Westmoreland Food Bank, helping to make boxes as well as pack boxes with assorted bread items for distribution to individuals facing food insecurity. We started off making boxes as out roles were once again split into unfolding the box, taping the box, and stacking the box. We made in total about 230 boxes. We sorted and checked bread items to ensure quality and freshness. The boxes were thoughtfully filled with bread loaves, rolls, and baked goods, creating balanced sustenance for those in need. We packed in total about 83 boxes. Throughout the event, volunteers displayed exceptional teamwork and dedication, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere. We are grateful for the opportunity to support The Westmoreland Food Bank’s mission in alleviating hunger and remain committed to making a meaningful impact in our community.
