On July 9, 2023, AYLUS San Diego Branch participated in the volunteer event at the San Diego Food Bank.
Since its establishment in 1977, the San Diego Food Bank is on a mission to connect every person facing hunger with nutritious meals by maximizing food rescue.
The San Diego Food Bank provides meals every year to children, families, seniors, college students, military families, veterans, people facing homelessness, and other underserved populations. They distribute meals in partnership with local charities, schools, faith communities, meal sites, and food pantries throughout the region.
AYLUS San Diego Branch set up recurring volunteer events at the San Diego Food Bank and volunteer students spent 2 hours each time, sorting and packaging foods, breaking boxes, and making boxes to store food.
