On July 15th and 16th, 2023, members of the AYLUS San Fernando Valley Branch partnered with the Emily Shane Foundation to volunteer in the Food Festival 805 Night Market. On both days, members volunteered from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Details on which members went on which day are below.
On Saturday, members David Wan, Subhash Srinivasa, Vaibhav Sridhar, and Benjamin Kozikaro-Sanchez helped set up, preparing tents, ice chests, gates, and tables. Later in the shift, members also checked tickets and directed people in. On Sunday, members Nicolas Storch, Marc Hua, and Jason Xie continued the effort – helping set up, handing out wristbands, and directing incoming traffic to park.
Huge thanks to the Emily Shane Foundation for allowing us to work with them and to the 805 Night Market organizers for keeping members refreshed throughout the hot days!
