Trash is something that disrupts the environment, threatens ecosystems, and ruins recreational areas for everyone. Yet it follows humans anywhere they go, ending up around every corner. On July 9th, members of the AYLUS Chapel Hill branch came together to clean the Town Community Park. In the park and Bolin Creek Trail, our team collected many non-biodegradable objects such as plastic, glass bottles, caps, fishing hooks, and sports equipment. Had these been left in the atmosphere, they could’ve stayed for hundreds of years severely harming the environment and, by extension, us. Our team hopes that our actions today will leave a lasting impact and help us live in a cleaner world tomorrow.
