On Wednesday, July 4th, from 5:30 pm to 10pm, the Roslyn Branch volunteered at Jones beach to inform the public of endangered species
As volunteers we were stationed on different parts of the beach to oversee any activities that could potentially hurt the endangered species living at Jones Beach. These activities included setting fireworks, firecrackers, and any sort of fire. If anyone on the beach was caught doing these sorts of activities we could politely ask them to stop. In addition if they didn’t listen to us when we politely asked them to stop we’d have to call park police. Through volunteering at Jones beach we’re proud to say that we stopped many fire activities from harming endangered species and were able to relax to enjoy the fireworks at Jones beach.
