On July 9, 2023, members of AYLUS Bellaire branch volunteered for the fifth consecutive trash clean-up at Evelyn’s Park.
From 5:30pm to 6:30pm, volunteers wore gloves and used old grocery bags as trash bags to collect trash from Evelyn’s park. They often picked up plastic straws, plastic straw wrappers, streamers, bottle caps, and cigarettes. Volunteers also found a pile of glass shards in the bushes of the back parking lot.
Volunteers covered the whole park including both parking lots and the sidewalk surrounding the park. They collected ten full bags of trash, each bag weighing between one to three pounds.
The following ten volunteers participated in this event (1 hour): Alexander Tang, Isabel Li, Yuruo Shen, Edward Cai, Nicholas Zhou, Alan Du, Danica Du, Andrew Chen, Shaun Israni, and Yimeng Sun.
