On June 25, 2023, members of AYLUS Bellaire branch volunteered for the third trash clean-up at Evelyn’s Park.
An authority of Evelyn’s park checked up on AYLUS Bellaire members soon after they arrived at the park and right before they left to make sure that they were doing well.
From 5:30pm to 6:30pm, volunteers wore gloves and used old grocery bags as trash bags to collect trash from areas including the sidewalks, play area, and parking lot of Evelyn’s park. Trash that was collected often included plastic straw wrappers, bottle caps, and pieces of styrofoam. Volunteers also found many cigarettes on the sidewalk along the parking lot. Volunteers covered the whole park, and each member collected two bags of trash, each bag of trash weighing between one to two pounds.
