On Saturday, June 10, 2023, AYLUS Fort Bend Branch members Ethan Li, David Chen, and Eric Guo organized and volunteered in an environmental conservation event at Memorial Park in Sugar Land, Texas. As one of the founding events and just the first of many crucial steps within the Ford Bend Branch’s self-led and self-organized ‘Plant a Tree, and Spread the Green’ Initiative, volunteers spent over two hours maintaining volunteer-planted Apple and Pecan trees, which are native, beneficial, and accustomed to the local environment, by hydrating and fertilizing the saplings with organic fertilizer. Volunteers also worked to remove and dispose of invasive weeds in the surrounding area, as part of the initiative’s primary goals of preserving and nurturing the local environment.
This was just one of the first of many events in our ‘Plant a Tree, and Spread the Green’ Initiative. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at aylusfortbend183@gmail.com if you are interested in the conservation and preservation of our local environment, especially in the face of growing climate challenges. We gratefully accept trees and donations from families and individuals who wish to assist us in our vision and initiative.
Thank you in advance for contributing to our cause!
Participating Members: David Chen (2 hr), Ethan Li (2 hr), Eric Guo (2 hr)
