On May 17th, 2023, members of the AYLU-Columbus branch held another in-person tutoring session at Abbey Church Village in Dublin, Ohio, as part of the weekly tutoring program. This community is part of the national church residences and serves low income families, including new immigrant families. This was their last session for this school year. The program will resume the coming Fall.
Five AYLUS Columbus members,Ayden He, Daniel Zheng, Esther Wang, Eliana Chung, and Brenna Li helped 4 elementary or middle school students with their math and English homework. Dakun Wang’s mother, Dakun, was the adult supervisors of the session.
The volunteers and the students being tutored are forming friendships.
