On March 5, 2023, Murrieta AYLUS members lended a hand to the Torrey Pines Senior Center. They exclusively worked with memory care, assisting patients with conditions such as Alzheimer’s and dementia. They began with light exercise alongside light music, complete with pool noodles and weights. After all the props were cleared away, they began preparing a serving fruit as a snack. They cut bananas into small slices and scooped fruit into cups, then distributed the cups to the seniors. After they’d finished their fruit, juice was given. Then, the daily chronicle was distributed. This included information on technological gadgets, historical events, important people, and more. To round out the day, they sang karaoke to lift everyone’s spirits before the seniors were led to lunch.
