On January 15th, 2023, 7 members of the AYLUS Rancho Cucamonga Branch volunteered at the Chinese culture performance at Temecula Valley High School for 8 hours. Our goal was to help the show run more smoothly and give the audience a better time watching. We understood the importance of performance, and we tried our best to make it as successful as possible.
One of the main things we focused on was advertising. Outside of the performance, some of our volunteers advertised the show by helping greet newcomers to buy color-coded tickets and showed guests their seats. There was a wrestling tournament at the same school, and we invited over guests from there. In the meantime, three of our members helped backstage with set transitions. When a new act started, we moved things such as instruments and mirrors so the next act could start as quickly as possible. We were also in charge of lowering the volume backstage so the audience could have an ideal experience.
At the end of the day, the performance was something important that we helped out with. We learned that it takes a lot of effort and people to help run a show successfully, and we had a good opportunity to volunteer there. We achieved the recognition of the director of the performance, and we wish that we can volunteer at more performances and shows such as this one.
