Chapel Hill Branch Volunteers to Clean Up Litter at Town Community Park and Bolin Creek Trail on Nov 12, 2022

Trash has great potential for harming the environment, wildlife and humans included. It can be found almost everywhere that involves human activities, especially the parks and trails near the city center. On November 12th, the members of AYLUS Chapel Hill branch gathered at the Town Community Park to take an active role in cleaning up our neighborhood. During the clean-up, our team collected lots of plastic debris such as plastic cups, bottles, straws, utensils, and stirrers nearby the community park and Bolin Creek trail. If those food and beverage-related trash are not properly disposed, it can end up in waterways, flow downstream into the oceans, and eventually impact our communities, economies, and natural ecosystems. Our team hopes that our actions will bring a positive influence on our family, friends, and community. Together we can protect our environment!

The volunteers who participated in this event are: Kevin Chen (2 hours), Luna Chen (1.5 hours), Ethan Li (1.5 hours), Kathryne Hong (1.5 hours), Michelle Lan (1.5 hours), Eric Sun (1.5 hours), Andrew Xu (1.5 hours).
