Reported by Jessica Lu
On September 24th and 25th, 2022, members Adora Xiao, Jessica Lu, Hsin Chen (Julie) Lu, Yuan (Ann) Yin, and KaiXi (Cathy) Liu) came together to visit their last 2 firefighter stations right after the health fair at Old Town.
Members decided to go to Temecula Fire station #1 first which is right beside the city hall where they volunteered for the health fair. The firefighters noticed members and opened the door even before we rang the bell. They appreciated our nice gesture and happily joined us for the picture.
Members then went to Riverside County Fire station #84 located beside Temecula Pauba Library. When members got there, there was a gentleman waiting in front of the door and he told us no one was in there. Members tried for a while but when but no one showed up, members decided to go back the next day. Luckily, there were people in when members went back the next day afternoon. When they saw our uniform, one of the firefighters said “I know what you’re here for!” He said he had heard what we were doing from the other firefighter stations.
Murrieta Branch had visited a total of 10 stations in their September “Thank you Firefighters” campaign. Their appreciation & respect for firefighters’ hard work is well expressed by their thoughtful visits and supplies donated. We hope these extraordinary men and women and their families stay healthy and safe!
Members are looking forward to doing the same campaign again next September!
Each station we donated: a pack of water / a potted flower w/ cards / foods / wipes.
