Someone else’s trash can be another’s treasure. This summer, rather than throwing away what we may have deemed as junk, the Gladstone Branch instead held a joint garage sale with the Bridgewater Branch and Basking Ridge Branch. We grasped this opportunity to also raise money in order to fund our yearly toy drive for Children’s Hospital at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. This way, our old clutter would not go to waste and dozens of children would get a new toy to lighten up their days.
After a long summer of hard work, the Gladstone Branch was able proudly to donate many toys. We wish to continue supporting these kids as we continue our toy drives in the future, and just like how our old junk found new homes, we hope the toys we buy find their own home in the arms of the children.
