On December 19th, 2021, Greater Temecula Valley AYLUS (GTVA) members Ally Negulescu (2hrs), Julie Lu (2hrs), and Jessica Lu (2 hrs) visited and hosted a special holiday recital at their local senior center!
Ice cream doesn’t only have to be a summer treat, it can also be paired with a fun, holiday recital hosted by GTVA AYLUS! Today’s Ice Cream Social and recital not only provided holiday cheer, but also put everyone in the happy, musical spirit! AYLUS members stepped into the senior center with quite a bit of excitement. The place was decorated beautifully, with lights stringed in every corner. After a little bit of setting up and “piano testing,” members were all revved up and ready to go!
The brilliant recital was opened up by Jessica Lu, who played Sonate in E by Scarlatti and Allegro Moderato by Haydn, followed up by Julie Lu who played Intermezzo in E by Brahms, and Rondo by Bartok. Finally, Ally Negulescu wrapped up the concert by playing Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence by Ryuichi Sakamoto and a collection of different Christmas carols. The sound of everyone joining together and singing was absolutely gorgeous, even the GTVA’s advisor joined in the choir!
As quick as it started, the recital was finally over, but the holiday spirit still lingered. Members closed off the concert, wishing everyone the happiest of holidays. The warm audience returned back the thought, even personally coming afterwards to thank GTVA members for the music, and slowly started to disperse. But that didn’t stop there!
The ice cream, as if gently taunting, called members over. The sight of the ice cream, the joy of the happy audience, and the sweet sensation of holiday cheer and dessert truly warmed the hearts of the members. The holiday caroling and social proved to be yet another success!
