20 years ago, the 9/11 terrorist attacks killed 2,977 people and injured thousands at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Americans host commemorative events at all three sites on the anniversary of the attacks.
Firefighters and their families sacrifice a lot to save lives, who deserve our honor and respect, especially at this memorial moment. In September, the Greater Princeton branch of AYLUS (GPA) continued an event called “Meals from the Heart”. GPA members honor our firefighter heroes in our community in our unique way.
On September 23rd, GPA member Andrew Yao (4 hrs) organized a “Meals from the Heart” event for local firefighters. GPA members (1 hr for all), including Gardenia, Katie Li, and Chao Yao, joined the organizer for the event, hand delivering the meals to the volunteer firefighters (1891 Long Hill Road, Millington, NJ 07946). GPA also invited other students and AYLUS members from the area to conclude its meal donation event for firefighters (check Fire Watch Guards from here) this year.
