Last Saturday was the 20th anniversary of 9/11. The terrorist attacks killed 2,977 people and injured thousands at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Americans host commemorative events at all three sites on the anniversary of the attacks.
Firefighters and their families sacrifice a lot to save lives, who deserve our honor and respect, especially at this memorial moment. In September, the Greater Princeton branch of AYLUS (GPA) continued an event called “Meals from the Heart”. GPA members honor our firefighter heroes in our community in our unique way.
In September, GPA member Anthony F Yang (9/15, 4 hrs; 9/11, 4 hrs;) organized two “Meals from the Heart” events for local firefighters and the rescue squad. GPA members (1 hr for all), including Andrew Yao (9/15, 1 hr; 9/11, 1 hr), and James Wang (9/15, 1 hr), joined the organizer for the event, hand delivering the meals to the Warren Volunteer Firefighters (128 Mt Bethel Road, Warren, NJ 08812).
GPA also invited other branches AYLUS members, Wesley Liu, Stanley Liu, and more, to join this meal donation event for firefighters.
