The 20th anniversary of 9/11 is coming. The terrorist attacks killed 2,977 people and injured thousands at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Americans host commemorative events at all three sites on the anniversary of the attacks.
Firefighters and their families sacrifice a lot to save lives, who deserve our honor and respect, especially at this memorial moment. In September, the Greater Princeton branch of AYLUS (GPA) continued an event called “Meals from the Heart”. GPA members honor our firefighter heroes in our community in our unique way.
On September 11th, GPA members Ethan Xu (4 hrs), Charlotte Xu (4 hrs) and President Cassie Wang (1 hr) organized a “Meal from the Heart” event for local firefighters. More GPA members (3 hrs for all), including Meisu Wang, Xiangcheng Ying, William Yuan, Steven Chi, Andy Chi, Sophia Gao, Jie Gao, Vanessa Zhang, Allen Zhang, Allan You, Kevin Zhao, Donna Nagorny, Grace Li, Tessa Thai, Amy Chua, Max Chua, and Amber Yu, joined the organizers for the event, hand delivering the meals to the Plainsboro Volunteer Firefighters (407 Plainsboro Road, Plainsboro, NJ).
GPA members also spent a moment of silence along with the firefighters to remember those we lost 20 years ago and thereafter.
More donation events are coming in September throughout the state of New Jersey!
