AYLUS Pearland hosted a plant sale and donation event to raise money for “Camp for All,”, our first ever day camp for kids with special needs, partnered with BACH ECI and Light and Salt Association’s Special Needs Care Center.
AYLUS Pearland asked the community for plant donations such as flowers and vegetables. On June 29th, community members donated a variety of different plants to the fundraiser, such as Christmas cacti, garden flowers, iron trees, house plants, gourds, and more.
Slowly over the next few weeks, AYLUS Pearland held both online and on-site sales to welcome donations for this event. While many of the sales and donations were online over WeChat and other social media platforms, AYLUS, Pearland did organize an on-site sale on July 17th. They set up a plant stand under a large patio in Silverlake HOA Community Park, while volunteers approached different people to advertise the plants and spread information about the camp. The on-site sale made about $200 dollars.
Several AYLUS members also held a cookie sale and a silkworm sale to raise funds to further support the fundraiser. The total funds raised in July from all three events concluded to $567 dollars.
Along with other fundraisers from July, AYLUS Pearland was able to raise a total of $1,027 dollars, setting a great start for our Camp for All project!
