In July of 2021, the East Cobb Branch of AYLUS held its second week of PSAT summer training camp. The camp was scheduled to be 2 weeks long, with 6 sessions. Each session would be split into two lessons; this would give each subject of the PSAT, reading, writing, and math, 4 lessons each. Each of the lessons would be taught by members of the branch who had previously received perfect scores or 99% in their respective subjects for the PSAT.
The second week began on July 27, with reading and writing. The class was taught similarly to the prior week’s class. By now, the teachers and students were very familiar with the flow of the class so they were able to get through the material quicker than expected.
The next session happened two days later on July 29. Math and reading were taught. Once again, the teachers continued their lessons by helping the students practice while reviewing tough concepts. As this was the final day Ethan would teach, at the end of his lesson, he gave the students a few final words or encouragement, resources for further study, and a way to contact him if the need arises.
The final session for the week happened on Saturday, July 31. The day proceeded as it had always and the two teachers taught writing and math. To better accommodate the tutors’ schedules, math went first. As this was our final class for the students, once the tutors finished teaching the students, they provided contacts for the students should they need more help. Then, after a few words of encouragement, the 2nd East Cobb Branch summer PSAT training camp ended.
