During the fourth week of June, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their Humanities Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide English/Chinese reading, writing, speaking, and communication to their students, and also to teach students history or foreign languages such as Spanish.
They had conversations over Zoom or Facetime, teaching students about topics they are interested in, such as movies, games, and school. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students grow accustomed to speaking and writing in the taught language. Their language challenge camp activities included:

Haobin Cao taught Miranda Xue Chinese for an hour and a half on Saturday, 6/26.
Kyle Hou tutored Alice Yang, Ella Cai, Linda Yang, and Alicia Xu on Spanish on Saturday, 6/26, for 45 minutes.
Ryan Hua tutored Darren Cui, Katherine Backues, and Eva Mather American History on Sunday, 6/27, for one and a half hours.
In total, there were 11 participants in this event, with 3 volunteers.
