On Sunday, June 27th, the members of the Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA) Light as a Feather Committee hosted another Earth Team Volunteer bird watching field trip at Baldpate Mountain in Hopewell Township (28 Fiddlers Creek Road, Titusville, NJ 08560).
We hiked to the top of the mountain, where we saw a variety of wildlife including a Red-Tailed Hawk, Indigo Buntings, Baltimore Orioles, Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks, Wood Thrushes, American Goldfinches, Gray Catbirds, and more. These were spotted, heard, and identified by Ethan Xu and Committee members.
We taught the participants about the characteristics and songs of the birds we saw on the trip, and fun facts about bird behavior. Overall, it was a fun trip, and we hope everyone enjoyed spending some time outdoors!
Participants (6/27, 3 hrs for all): Ethan Xu, Lina Yang, Kathie Wang, Amy Zheng, Callie Zheng, Victor Peng, Cassie Wang, Chloe Tan, Xiying Fan, Ellen Wu, Laura Wu, Charlotte Xu, and their parents.
