On May 1, the annual Dublin Community Service Day resumed after a cancellation last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Volunteers, Emma Yu, Evan Yu, Catherine Harman, and Brenna Li, in the AYLUS Columbus branch participated in this community event. They went to two disabled peoples’ homes to help with yard work. They raked up leaves and pine needles, swept the deck, and cleaned the windows. The residents waved to them from inside the houses to show their appreciation. They then went to Old Sawmill Elementary School to help clean its playground and pick up trash and weed. The volunteer’s parents also pitched in, helping with all the work. The kids and parents all worked very diligently and enjoyed the nice weather and the rewarding feeling of helping others in the community.
