On 4/17/21, Members of the AYLUS Syosset community participated in the making and supplying of a composter for a house in the community of Syosset.
The AYLUS Syosset branch brought the unassembled composter to the backyard of the home and began to assemble it. After the composter was built, it was then filled with materials such as cardboard, paper, food scraps, and other biodegradable wastes that were either supplied by the house or prepared by the participants prior to the event. No matter how small the impact, this composter will help the environment by allowing food scraps and other naturally degradable waste, to be turned into a nutrient rich soil instead of being left to rot in a landfill.
Participants included Alan Huang(2 hours), Ryan Leung(2 hours), Sean Kane, Matthew Lee, and Francina Liu.
