During the first week of April, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their Language Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide English/Chinese reading, writing, speaking, and communication to their students, and also to teach students foreign languages such as Spanish.
They had conversations over Zoom or Facetime, teaching students about topics they are interested in, such as movies, games, and school. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students grow accustomed to speaking and writing in the taught language. Their language challenge camp activities included:

Haobin Cao taught his student Alice Yang Chinese for an hour and a half on Saturday, 4/3.
Edward Liu tutored Joanne Liu, Felix Yang, Giulietta Wu, Gavin Zheng, Philip Zhang, and Daniel Wang on English Writing for 5th graders on Saturday, 4/3, for one and a half hours.
Eric Lin tutored Linda Yang, Darren Cui, Edmond, and Alice Yang on English reading for 4th grade on Saturday, 4/3, for one and a half hours.
Mike Bai tutored Ben Guo on Chinese on Saturday, 4/3, for one and a half hours.
Meijia He tutored Andrew Xu, Angela Li, and Ella Cai on Spanish on Saturday, 4/3, for one and a half hours.
In total, there were 19 participants in this event, with 5 volunteers.
