Our 12th unit is from 3/1/2021 to 3/31/2021; the Sugar Land Branch Junior Support Program, led by Branch’s junior leader Alvin Zhou, has continued offering free lessons to Pre-K kids. We started math class on 1/15/2021. The class is an introductory mathematics course for 1st graders and below. We decided to teach twenty-six lessons in total, which lasting from 1/15/2021 to 3/15/2021. We will use Primary Mathematics 1B Textbook and Workbook (Singapore Math U.S. Edition) to introduce and explain the basic concept of numbers, addition, subtraction, length, and weight in these classes. We expect that the concrete, visual approach will enable students to encounter math in a meaningful way. We wound teach three lessons each week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
During the 2nd week of the 12th unit from 3/7/2021 to 3/13/2021, Alvin organized meetings; meanwhile, Annabelle joined as the presenters. Annabelle taught Lesson 22 and Lesson 23 on 3/8 and 3/10, respectively. Alvin taught Lesson 24 on 3/12.
