The Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) students continue their Bilingual Tutoring Program in February. The program allows GPA members to provide reading, writing, speaking, math, and communication to their students across the country.
They had conversations over various video calling platforms, such as Zoom or Facetime, with students about topics they are interested in, such as movies, games, and school. Their bilingual tutoring activities included:
GPA member Catherine Feng organized this program (2/21, 2 hrs). Catherine Feng taught her student Brandon English and Math for 1 hour on Sunday, 2/14, from 4:30 – 5:30 pm. She also tutored her student in reading comprehension for 1 hour on Sunday, 2/21, from 4:30-5:30 pm.
Elizabeth Jia prepared her lesson and taught her students English through reading comprehension for two hours each on Saturdays 2/13 and 2/20.
Ruofei Olivia Mao tutored her student Summer for 2 hours on Sunday, 2/21, from 1 to 3 pm, focusing on making stories and readings.
Anthony F Yang taught his 9-year-old student reading and writing for 2 hours on Sunday, 2/14, teaching from 5:30 – 6:15 pm and preparing class materials and lesson plans for 45 minutes.
Ryan Tian taught his student Aishia Chinese for half an hour on Mondays 2/8 and 2/15, from 7:00-7:30 pm. He also tutored for 2 hours each on Fridays 2/5 and 2/12 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, teaching two kids English and Math. He tutored two different kids on Sundays 2/7 and 2/14, from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, on Math and English.
Daniel He taught his student Chinese writing for 1 hour on Sunday, 2/21.
GPA members Abigail Bao (2/12, 2 hrs; 2/14, 2 hrs) and Angela Bao (2/12, 2 hrs; 2/14, 2 hrs) also taught her students in the subjects of English reading and writing, focusing on story-telling.
Allen Zhang taught his student in New York for 3 hours on 2/17.
