During the fourth week of January, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their arts Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide musical and artistical guidance to interested students.
They taught over Zoom or Facetime, helping students learn and practice various musical and artistical skills. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students grow accustomed to playing music and achieving other artistical levels of success. Their arts challenge camp activities included:
AYLUS San Diego volunteer Eric Li taught his student, Andrew Chen, saxophone on Saturday, 1/23, for one and a half hours.
Eric Lin taught Daniel Chen and Kenny Chen piano for one and a half hours on Saturday, 1/23.
Jonathan Backues taught Max Zhang and Emery Cui piano for one and a half hours on Saturday, 1/23.
Eric Li taught Andrew Chen saxophone for one and a half hours on Saturday, 1/23.
Anthony Jiang taught Ethan Chen cello for one hour on Saturday, 1/23.
Michael Bao taught Ryan Gao cello for one hour on Saturday, 1/23.
Emma Li taught Emily Chen and Katherine Backues flute for one and a half hours on Saturday, 1/23.
In total, there were 9 participants in this event, with 6 volunteers.
