The Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) students continue their Bilingual Tutoring Program in January. The program allows GPA members to provide reading, writing, speaking, math, and communication to their students across the country.
They had conversations over various video calling platforms, such as Zoom or Facetime, with students about topics they are interested in, such as movies, games, and school. Their bilingual tutoring activities included:
GPA member Catherine Feng spent 2 hours managing this tutoring program on 1/17. Catherine taught her student Brandon English and Math for 1 hour on Sunday, 1/17, from 4:30 – 5:30 pm.
Elizabeth Jia prepared her lesson and taught her students English through reading comprehension for two hours on Saturday, 1/16.
Daniel He taught his student Chinese writing for 1 hour on Sunday, 1/17.
Ruofei Olivia Mao tutored her student for an hour on Saturday, 1/16, from 1:10-2:10 pm, focusing on reading comprehension and learning about MLK Day.
GPA member Abigail Bao (1/15, 2 hrs; 1/17, 2 hrs) also taught her students in the subjects of English reading and writing, focusing on story-telling.
Allen Zhang taught his student in New York for 3 hours on 1/18/2021.
