In this 2020 Holiday Season, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) starts its “Save A Life: Walk to End Alzheimer’s” event for a better 2021. It is a continuous effort of GPA members to support our community together with the Alzheimer’s Association since their last event in October 2019.
Currently, over 5 million Americans have Alzheimer’s and that number may grow to 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can change the course of this disease. Walk to End Alzheimer’s event is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Alzheimer’s Association is a nonprofit association that aims to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research.
During their after school hours, GPA volunteers take part either in person or virtually: walk, jog, bike, golf, or do yoga, in or out of their houses to show their support for Walk to End Alzheimer’s. GPA members prepare speech videos and flyers besides attractive signs for the event. In both cases, all GPA members wear AYLUS hoodies or T-shirts, with masks on, and follow the social distancing rule.
